Restricting Access to Records by Record Owners

It would be really useful if the person who creates a record automatically became the owner of it, with the ability to control who else can view or edit it.

Most of the time records should probably stay open for everyone in the organisation so teams can collaborate easily. But sometimes there are things that are a bit more sensitive, so it would be helpful if the owner could restrict access and give certain people either view-only or edit permissions.

For example, things like employee gifts, salary-related purchases, confidential contracts, or supplier negotiations might not need to be visible to the whole company.

This would be especially helpful for smaller teams where everyone usually works openly, but there are occasional situations where you need a bit more privacy. Ideally admins would still be able to see everything for oversight, but day-to-day control could sit with whoever created the record.
